مبارة مثيرة وسريعه منذ اللحظة الاولى , حيث تمكن فريق اياكس الهولندى من احراز الهدف الاول فى الدقيقة الثانية عن طريق اللاعب تامى أبراهام لاعب تشيلسي فى مرماه , ولكن سرعان ما عاد تشيلسي للمبارة بهدف التعادل فى الدقيقة 5 بضربة جزاء عن طريق اللاعب جورجينهو , ولكن على عكس المتوقع فقد فريق تشيلسي اتزانه وتمكن فريق اياكس الهولندى من احراز ثلاثه اهداف والتقدم بالنتيجة 4-1 , واعتقد الجميع ان المبارة ستنتهى لصالح فريق اياكس ولكن عاد فريق تشيلسي فى الدقيقة 63 من احراز هدف ثانى عن طريق اللاعب ازبيليكويتا , وفى دقائق مجنونه طرد اثنان من لاعبى اياكس وتحديدا فى الدقائق 68 و 69 ليتمكن فريق تشيلسي من احرارز الهدف الثالث فى الدقيقة 71 من ضربه جزاء ثم هدف التعادل فى الدقيقة 74 عن طريق اللاعب ريس جيمس لتنتهى المبارة بهذة النتيجة والاحداث المثيرة .
بهذا التعادل ارتفع رصيد كلا الفريقين الى 7 نقاط ويحتل فريق اياكس قمة المجموعه وفريق تشيلسي المركز الثانى وبنفس الرصيد يحتل فريق فالنسيا المركز الثالث بعد فوزة 4-1 على فريق ليل الفرنسي , ليشتعل الصراع بين الفرق الثلاث على بطاقتى الصعود .
